≡ 林檎の名産地
林檎は皮を剥いた状態で放置しておくと、身が変色する。これを防ぐため、塩水を塗ればいいというのは古くから言われていることだ。ただ、僕の母親の実家では、何を勘違いしているのか、塩に漬け込んだかのようにしょっぱい林檎をいつも食べている。これが美味しいと祖母は言うが、どうしても納得できない。
林檎をそのまま、まるまる１個使ったアップルパイを友人が買ってきた。形状も丸く、ただならぬ雰囲気である。しかし、これがうまいと友人は太鼓判を押す。切ってみると、薄いパイ生地で、甘く煮た林檎を包んでいる食べ物だった。中心部のさっくりとした食感が新鮮で、確かに美味しいお菓子だった。
椎名林檎は一度休業をしていたが、復帰後は「東京事変」というバンドのギタリスト兼ボーカルとして活躍している。トレードマークのホクロもなくなり、ソロ時代のアバンギャルドな雰囲気は若干スポイルされたものの、やはり彼女の歌声は魅力的だ。これからも椎名林檎のファンでいたい。
